Project overview
Lumen Health needed a patient-facing app to replace a clunky web portal that patients routinely abandoned before completing check-in. With a clinical launch date already committed to partner providers, there was no room for the project to slip.
The brief was demanding: an app patients could realistically use during a stressful moment (pre-appointment check-in), built to handle sensitive health data securely, and ready for both iOS and Android without doubling the engineering budget.
Our solution
We built cross-platform with Flutter, sharing one codebase across iOS and Android while still tuning performance and interaction patterns natively per platform. The design prioritized radical simplicity — every screen was tested against the question 'could a stressed, distracted patient complete this in under 30 seconds?'
Data handling was built to modern healthcare security standards from the architecture stage, not retrofitted before launch.
